Symposium:"Support to the Affected People in East Japan and to African People must Go together"

Africa Japan Forum (AJF) works with African People for African People's better life.

There are a lot of individuals and organizations that are engaged in actions for international cooperation continue to support the affected people in the East Japan after the massive earthquake. Also, people in younger generations are assertively making actions to support the East Japan.

Japan received support offers from 152 countries including 30 African countries and 42 international organizations.

There are more than 43 NGOs from 16 different countries that support the affected people and places by the disaster.

It is important that we reassure solidarity for supporting the affected in Japan and in the international society in order to recognize connections and challenges between supporting the affected in Japan and supporting Africa.

    • Yukino Iwai: A teaching staff at Waseda University, involved in volunteer activities in affected areas with her students
    • Masako Tanaka: Rise Together for Women in East Japan Disaster, involved in activities concerning about gender and diversity issues
